Last night, Brooklyn served as an odd nexus for media-proclaimed American royals with royalty of the traditional English kind. King James (LeBron James) helped lead the Cavaliers over the Nets as Queen B (Beyonce), Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge took in the game from court-side seats.
James finished with 18 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals after sitting out much of the fourth quarter in the Cavs’ 110-88 victory.

The Royal Family has a hoops history of its own. Last year, Kate was called upon to showcase her “jumpshot” during a visit to the Donald Dewar center in Glasgow, Scotland. She shot one for eight from the field, but in her defense, there probably aren’t many NBAers that would fare better while wearing high heels and a fitted tweed jacket.
Two years ago, William’s father Charles, who still has hopes of becoming King himself one day, showcased his court skills while touring a recreational center in Stockholm, Sweden. He missed all three of his shots, but maintained a stiff upper lip after putting on a jolly good show.

As for Prince William, no scouting footage exists, but his 6’6″ namesake (with an added “S”) has some nice looking moves…
