Kings of Instagram: David Ortiz, Mike Trout, Bryce Harper tops in followers among MLB stars

One can only imagine how many Instagram followers early baseball stars like Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth would have accumulated had the social media service existed a century earlier. As it is, nine of the ten-top most popular baseball players on Instagram, which was launched in 2010, are still active.

For now, longtime Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz still reigns as the top dog on Instagram as one of only three baseball players to have more than one million followers.

Close on Ortiz’ heels are a trio of young MVP winners in Mike Trout, Bryce Harper and Kris Bryant. New York Yankee’s slugger Aaron Judge makes his debut in the top ten by supplanting pitcher Marcus Stroman.
