The crying Michael Jordan meme was born when social media posters started pasting MJ’s tearful face from his NBA Hall of Fame acceptance speech on other athletes and celebrities that had suffered some form of loss.
The meme may have already crested in popularity when Jordan made the mistake of attending last night’s 2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball National Championship Game in support of his alma mater, North Carolina.
Villanova’s Kris Jenkins, aka the Big Smooth, buried a game-winning 3-pointer as time expired to give the Wildcats a thrilling 77-74 win over the Tar Heels. Even before the confetti began to fall, social media was awash in new #CryingJordan pictures.
