Picking up where they left off last season in Philadelphia, Allyssa Beird and Jesse Labreck shined anew on an American Ninja Warrior qualifying obstacle course — this time in Cleveland.

Beird, who has been killing it in regional ninja competitions over the past year, returned to race under ANW’s bright lights with high expectations — and she delivered. The 5th-grade school teacher became the first woman to press a buzzer this season with a dominant run in Cleveland.

Beird’s boyfriend, and ANW veteran James “The Beast” McGrath, followed her run with stellar performance of his own and finished the night with the second fastest time overall.

Labreck bettered Beird’s time to finish as the top woman in Cleveland. Together, they became the first pair of women in ANW history to complete the same city qualifying course.
Labreck’s boyfriend, Chris DiGangi, also completed the course, making it a perfect 4-0 night for Ninja Warrior’s two new power couples.
