Two of the three judges felt Robbie Lawler out-scored Carlos Condit in the main event at UFC 195 — a result that left commentator Joe Rogan and many in the crowd flummoxed.
Even UFC president Dana White confessed after the fight that he had it scored 3-2 in Condit’s favor. As for Condit himself, he was convinced he had “three rounds in the bag” but suggested he should have won the bout by stoppage to prevent leaving his fate up to the judges.

Rogan, who earlier this year argued for more MMA weight classes, took to Twitter following UFC 195 to suggest that the MMA scoring system too is in need of an overhaul.
MMA's scoring badly needs an upgrade. There's no way the 5th and 3rd rounds should generate the same score last night.

The idea that we continue to use boxing's 10 point must system for a completely different sport is inexcusable at this stage.

Imagine how goofy football would be if quarters were scored as equal 10 – 9 rounds regardless of how much more scoring was done in each.

Submissions and KO's will always be the most definitive ways to win fights but we should know exactly what points are based on at this stage

I think MMA could also benefit from more judges scoring a huge fight. 3 people deciding huge championship decisions doesn't seem smart.

Unfortunately the @UFC has to rely on athletic commissions to overhaul the system. https://t.co/wx5X84eEQm
