Breaking jump rope world records can be a real pain in the butt

Guinness World Records’ weekly Meet the Record Breakers series travelled to Wako in the Saitama Prefecture of Japan to watch Sadatoshi Watanabe attempt three new jump rope skipping records.

In his first attempt, Watanabe managed to tie the record for Most Skips Over a 10 Meter Rope in 30 Seconds with a total of 20. Next he took aim at the title for Most Skips in 30 Seconds Using One Foot, but despite an impressive effort came up five skips short of the record of 132.

Actually breaking a world record, it turns out, can be a real pain in the butt. Watanabe overcame two rope-stopping glitches and a half minute of posterior pain, to set a new world record for Most Bum Skips in 30 Seconds with a total of 104.
