Normally caddies don’t make the news unless they are involved in an ugly breakup with a golf legend like Tiger Woods. But when the caddy has 22.3 million followers on Twitter and has walked the greens with the current No. 1 golfer in the world, it gets noticed even when everything’s hunky-dory between the two.
After caddying for Rory McIlroy at the BMW PGA Pro-Am, One Direction star Niall Horan fielded questions from the golfer contributed by fans on social media. Among the tidbits gleaned, Horan cites himself — with a tip o’ the hat to Harry Styles — as his band’s best golfer and has shot all-time best round of seventy-nine.

Perhaps it was destiny that Horan and McIlroy would click, but credit Jimmy Fallon for being the first to spot the connection between the two during a Tonight Show Superlatives segment last summer.
