After rounding third, Bears base runner Joo-hwan Choi paused halfway home uncertain if a throw was imminent, then proceeded to make a premature headfirst dive for the plate. No matter which angle you view his slide from, it will leave you scratching your jaw.
Choi’s painful, desperate crawl into home is reminiscent of the theatrical trope of a man in the desert trying to reach a watering hole.
