A skimboard is a small, finless surfboard designed to skim the shallow water where the ocean tide washes over the beach. They were first used by Laguna Beach lifeguards as a convenient conveyance. But the times, they are a changin’.

Brad Domke, and a handful of other pro surfers, have ventured further and further from the beach on their skimboards to “skurf” ever-larger waves. On July 5th of this year, Domke was towed into what may have been the biggest bad boy of them all off of the coast of Puerto Escondido, Mexico.
