Like LeBron James in the NBA Finals, Munenori Kawasaki has been victimized by leg cramps to the point where he hasn’t been able to play in games. Fear not. In the tradition of Zen masters, the Toronto Blue Jays infielder has come up with a cure for cramping from studying nature — specifically monkeys.

It turns out there’s a lot of good science behind Kawasaki’s monkey theory. Bananas are chock full of potassium which works with sodium to maintain your body’s water balance. Low potassium levels, called hypokalemia, can cause muscle cramping. LeBron, are you listening?

Kawasaki’s interviews are ofter more entertaining the the ballgames themselves, especially when the Jays are mired in the sort of midseason funk they’re currently undergoing. Here are a couple of classic exchanges with the former Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks’ star.
