From start to finish, it took just two and one half years to raise a state-of-the-art stadium on an empty field next to California’s Great America amusement park. Now, thanks to a time-lapse video assembled from thousands of EarthCam megapixel photos, the whole process can be viewed in under two minutes.
The first 15 or so seconds of the video document a strange dance among giant construction cranes before anything substantive takes shape. The sequence of pictures goes all the way up to game time with the Chicago Bears, but fails to capture the multiple iterations of sod laying during the preseason.

If the Niners can finish the season with a SuperBowl win in their new home, the opening game loss will quickly fade from memory. EarthCam will have to keep snapping pictures until then…
